STA Link began service Sept. 22 in two pilot areas: Latah Valley and North Spokane Valley. Spokane Transit designed the program to connect places that are difficult to serve with conventional bus routes, offering shared rides that can also link passengers with the broader transit network. [1]
Start by checking the zone maps on STA’s program page. Both ends of an STA Link trip must be inside the same designated zone. A connection to a regular bus stop or Paratransit pickup point must also be within that zone; this is not a direct service between the two pilot areas. [2]
Hours differ by location. The Latah Valley zone operates Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. North Spokane Valley operates daily, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Accessible service is available for passengers who need mobility assistance. [2]
To request a trip, use the STA Go app, the booking link on STA’s website, or call 509-364-6200. STA says riders can request immediate travel or arrange a trip for the same or following day. The app supplies pickup information and any bus connections. [1]
The standard fare is $2, with a $1 fare for qualifying reduced-fare riders. Youth 18 and younger ride free. Use a registered physical Connect card for payment; riders planning to travel with children should confirm the applicable requirements with STA before booking. [2]
Expect a shared trip: STA may group passengers traveling in a similar direction. The agency describes Link as a pilot, with the results intended to help shape future transit service. [1]
